Original era manufacture. First pattern tropical helmet introduced in 1941 of tan canvas covered cork construction. The helmet is complete with its proper leather liner, and red cotton covered interior.The shields are replacements as the prongs penetrate the lining, a fairly common occurrence with these old helmets. The leather edge binding issound, the body is not crushed or dented. The interior of the sweatband displays the size stamp 56, and makers information.Very clean and presentable, light staining and soiling to the canvas exterior.
