Original era manufacture. Second pattern tropical helmet introduced in 1942 of felt rather than canvas covered cork construction. The helmet is complete with its proper insignia, chinstrap and red wool felt liner. The leather bound edge shows wear and fraying with the wire stiffener visible in several places. No dents to the helmet body, JHS maker marked on the sweatband.
