Original era manufacture. A solid example of the first model Luftwaffe dagger with nickel fittings throughout. The blade measures slightly over 12 inches in length, with a less commonly encountered makers logo by David Malsch, Steinbach, Thringen. The blade is clean, no corrosion issues with a light mottled appearance to the surface, and one tiny nick in the edge.Dark blue leather covered wooden grip with tightly wrapped triple wire binding. There is a nice gloss to the leather surface, with a few spots of scattered wear down to the wooden core visible.Early quality, rather heavy feeling, steel bodied scabbard. Again, nickel fittings, to include the suspension chain. All fitting screws are present, no missing portions of the blue leather covering, just some light bumps to the surface from service use.Very clean looking dagger.
