Original era manufacture. This beautiful example of a second model Luftwaffe officers dagger displays the SMF logo and Luftwaffe proof on the reverse of the blade. Minor runner wear to the blade surface is the only issue to the blade, original polish and very bright.The early quality crossguard and pommel show very nice detail with the gold finish remaining on the swastika's on both sides of the pommel. Dark orange grip bound with twisted silver wire, no cracks or chips. Original aluminum wire knot wrapped around the grip, showing minor scattered wear and fraying.Dent free early alloy scabbard with a very pleasing silver patina finish. Overall this is a very, very nice example. Aside from the minor fraying on the knot, this would be a difficult dagger to improve on.
