Original era manufacture. A nice 5 document set to the same soldier, Obergefreiter Alfred Hofmann, show served in IR 176 until 1943, and then divisional Fusilier Battalion 61 in early January 1944.The lot consists of the following, preliminary document for the Infantry Assault Badge 24-9-41, EK2 27-2-43 signed by the divisional commander 61st ID, preliminary document Ostmedaille 1-8-42, award document Ostmedaille same date, award document Black Wound Badge 10-1-44.The 61st Infantry Division saw combat in Poland, Belgium, Russia, where it served with Army Group North. It ended the war at Battle Group strength, cut-off in East Prussia. All of the documents show original signatures, have been folded, but overall are in very sound condition. Excellent research potential.
