Original era manufacture. Clean M1936 officers quality tunic with original sewn pink piped Leutnant straps with matching collar tabs. Ribbed feldgrau wool tunic with a dark green wool collar, french cuffs and loops for a ribbon bar and one badge. Full imitation silk lining with a slit for a dagger with sewn-in snaphook. This tunic was purchased by a friend of ours from the son of the GI who brought it home with him from WWII. As a child, the son wore this tunic while playing army, so the father removed the breast eagle so as to not offend anyone. Later, the son had the eagle machine stitched back onto the tunic. The stitching now pierces the lining and it is not quite lined up properly. Just part of the tunics history. Included with the tunic is the original capture certificate dated September 1944, which lists among other items, 1 German field jacket, which is identified as the property of one Pvt. Ralph Pennington who served with HQ XX Corps
