Original era manufacture. Standard issue 6x30 Dienstglas with an Ordnance Tan paint finish, as used by the Wehrmacht on all fronts during WWII. The optics are basically clear, with a range grid in the right lens, the left lens is a bit murky. They are properly collimated, meaning no double image when viewed. The left eyepiece adjusts easily, while the right side is stripped a bit so needs a little patience when adjusting it.No bakelite eyepiece rims. At first glance, (no pun here), this puts one off, however it may have been the case that the original owner removed them. This might be the explanation because of the thick lambs-wool section on the neckstrap. Whoever used these during WWII had them around his neck often, likely for lengths of time, and when quickly lifted up to be viewed through, sometimes those bakelite eye rims get in the way. Or not, just my thought this morning. The paint finish is in good shape, showing normal wear to the highpoints, and the center column rod is not loose or floppy. Coded ddx on the frame cover, Voightlander manufacture. The left front lens rim has been replaced at some point with a black example.
