Original period manufacture. This is truly a wonderful relic, one we almost put aside for ourselves. That's a temptation that we struggle with all the time, being one's own best customer. At any rate, this wooden statue or trophy is truly a work of art. It stands just over 12 inches in height and breaks down into four major components for ease in shipping. That's important as that is how the DAK soldier sent it home during WWII. Written on the base is the address of the individual (perhaps his father) who recieved the statue and the name of the POW camp in Dexter N.M.. The only damage or wear to be mentioned are the very tips of the eagles wings are missing. Included with the statue is a document awarding the soldier the Rommel medal in silver for 25 years with the Afrika Korps veterans organization. One of a kind.
