Original era manufacture. Standard German Army enlisted belt and buckle set, 95 cm stamped on the tip of the leather belt, sound stitching, no dry rot, feldgrau painted steel catch. The cast aluminum buckle is maker marked R.S.&S. forward of the catch with some original feldgrau paint remaining on the interior. Even wear to the exterior with a nice contrast to the motto and eagle. A field repair was performed on the buckle at some point during it's service life, in that the aluminum pin which holds the attaching prong in place wore through, and was replaced with a section of heavy steel wire. The wire was then bent on each end to hold the prong bar together to do its job. Unit marked on the adjusting tab, 3./Pi.31.II. Honest belt and buckle set that saw service during WWII, good research potential with the unit marking.
