Original era manufacture. German Army issue enlisted sword, as worn by mounted units prior to WWII. Polished steel blade measuring 28 inches in length, running straight and true, with the Eickhorn Squirrel logo behind the reverse langet. Numerous waffenamt type proofs appear on the guard, blade and scabbard drag, with the serial number 7106 visible on the bottom of the guard and on the scabbard throat. In addition, the letters CE/G can be seen on the bottom of the guard. C.E. Carl Eickhorn, with the letter G in the Luger world denoting 1935 as a year of manufacture. Black plastic wrapped grip bound with double strand wire. Leather finger loop inside the guard is present. The blue steel scabbard retains most of it's original finish, with scattered dents from service use. Rather a scarce sword and somewhat overlooked in the collecting world.
