Sold for: $450.00
Original era manufacture. An issue quality, Infantry branch, enlisted visor hat, with an orange cotton lining and gray leather sweatband. Feldgrau wool top with a green wool cap band, Infantry white imitation silk piping. Inkstamped in the crown of the lining is N56, which in this instance relates to the size of the hat. Lightly glued into the lining is a retailers tag, Furbeth & Beisel of Wetzlar. Named to a Wachtmeister and dated 1936. The hat is not crushed or broken, original aluminum insignia in place. Beyond normal wear and use, the only issues would be some fraying to the top of the leather sweatband, one small mothbite on the top edge, and a 4 mm hole on the underside of the hat in the back. This hole is pretty well covered by the natural fold of the top and can only be seen by lifting up the edge.
