Original era manufacture. Purchased from the son of the US Army veteran who returned home with this from WWII. Private purchase quality Heer, Infantry enlisted visor made retailed by the firm of C. Roder, of Mausburg. Moth free feldgrau wool top with a dark green wool band, all piped in Infantry white wool. Dark brown imitation silk lining with a complete diamond-shaped sweatshield, with gilt lettering. Nice wide leather sweatband which is securely sewn to the body, as is the molded fiber visor. Black patent leather chinstrap with both attaching buttons present. For some reason the metal insignia had been removed by the family, perhaps for storage, who knows. Both of the attaching prongs are present on the reverse of the eagle, however one is missing from the wreath. We have included an extra original wreath from our stock of parts, complete with both pins, should you wish to use it as a replacement. Sound original hat, size about a 57 (US 7), the front is pushed down a bit from storage, not crushed or broken, zero moth issues.
