Original era manufacture. A wartime quality hat, doeskin feldgrau wool top, dark green wool band with white wool piping. All aluminum eagle and wreath, silver wire chinstrap. The liner is of orange cotton with an intact sweat diamond marked Sonderklasse. Imitation leather sweatband is crumpled a bit and a tear on one side. The hat displays well, is clean with only one small moth bite on its top. Normal age and wear overall.  A sharp-eyed collector made note of the fact that the eagle is held in place by threads around the base of the eagles wings...thanks Tim.
