Original era manufacture. Very clean, and excellent quality prewar manufacture tunic (1938) as worn by an Army Signals Leutnant.Light colored feldgrau tunic, four pleated pockets with pointed cuffs, dark green wool collar. The lower edge of the tunic has been shortened as was a common style affected by young officers. Full complement of feldgrau painted pebbled buttons. Loops for three medals and badges on the left upper pocket.Hand stitched Signal collar tabs, slip-on pattern Leutnant shoulder boards, also for a Signal officer, enlisted quality embroidered tunic eagle. Dark gray cotton lining with bandage pouch. No staining or tears, no fraying or wear to the collar and cuff edges, with only one pencil-point moth bite in the left shoulder. A very attractive and clean example of the classic German army tunic of WWII.
