Original era manufacture. Standard pattern M1916 steel helmet with a hand painted rough combat dark feldgrau finish. On the left side is a very solid Heer pattern decal as shown. Complete M31 leather liner with an intact draw string. The original owners name is written on the rear of the liner. All three rivets are in place and show a good match to the helmet surface, the left front rivet is missing its slot washer, the others are present. Original chinstrap which shows an extra, soldier applied adjustment hole. Overall a very solid example.
