Original era manufacture. A giganga sized German WWII M1935, Heer, double decal helmet, maker and size marked SE68, with a lot number of 2923. Most of the original apple-green paint finish remains on the helmet shell. The tri-color decal has been removed per the 1940 OKW order, with the Heer pattern decal carefully painted over. When you hold the helmet just right, you can see the outline of the eagle beneath the paint. Original matching finish rivets throughout, each with it's slot washer in place. Solid leather liner with the name of Schaffer written in ink on one side. The adjusting string is intact, with one finger pulled through. Early pattern aluminum square-topped chinstrap loops, with a brown color, pliable leather chinstrap with a steel adjusting buckle. 1936 dated aluminum liner band, which has been cut on the left side for some reason. The helmet exterior displays its share of typical scratches and nicks, in addition to the required amount of white (it's always white) flecks of garage paint. Cool old helmet.
