Original era manufacture. A complete example of the classic German Army helmet with a very nice original Heer pattern decal as shown. Maker marked EF66 on the inside of the skirt, lot number appears to be 168. I believe at some point this had a winter white wash finish applied to the helmet exterior, which would have then been removed when warmer weather came round. A whitish hue remains on the shell, mostly around the top of the visor. Now to the nuts & bolts. The leather liner and adjusting string are original WWII and intact. The steel liner band is maker marked and clearly stamped 1942. In my opinion this liner was installed postwar, likely by a collector or dealer for restoration purposes. The helmet rivets are from an earlier pattern helmet, with alloy rather than steel heads. The rivets are complete with their slot washers, however the rivet tabs do not lay flat against the inside of the liner band as on factory installed rivets. The chinstrap, while of the correct style, and RB marked, is an older replacement example, not original WWII.
