Original era manufacture. A very nice, untouched original helmet which includes a set of dogtags identifying the GI who brought this home from WWII.Standard M1940 steel helmet with original decal as shown, comes with it's original, and very sound, leather liner with drawstring, and intact original chinstrap. The German soldiers last name is carefully handpainted on the inside of the rear neckguard. Looped through the chinstrap bales is a GI dogtag chain with a NOK tag named to a soldier from Illinois.    There are some scattered splashes of mud and dirt on the outside of the helmet, just light combat wear overall, and never modified or improved upon in any war.Came with the 39th Engineer Guidon listed in the Flags section of our site.
