German WWII Army M1940 Steel Helmet, Named, Veteran Bringback

Original era manufacture. The classic WWII German Army Stahlhelm, M1940 pattern in a size 56. I cannot make out the maker stamp on the neckskirt as the paint is thick in that area. Excellent original decal as shown, most of the original dark combat finish paint remains intact. Painted in white on the rear of the neckskirt is the original owners name, W.Klos. Complete original liner, size marked 56 with drawstring intact. Very sound original and complete chinstrap which is RB numbered. At some point in this helmet's life the liner was removed, perhaps depot refurbished, as the rivet slot washers were not re-installed when the liner was replaced. In addition, the rivet heads appear to be from an earlier pattern helmet as they have an apple green tinge to the color. One of the souvenirs brought home by Sergeant H. Hederer, HQ Battery, 5th Infantry Division, Europe Campaign 1944-45.
