Original era manufacture. A sound example of the classic German Army helmet, with an nice original Heer pattern decal as shown. Most of the original factory paint remains on the shell, showing a dent and narrow crack on the left side edge, at the beginning of the skirt. Size and maker marked NS64. A rather tattered leather liner with original rivets and slot washers, adjusting string in place, and a complete but frail chinstrap. Reportedly, the fracture and dent occurred when the helmet was struck by the wheel of a Jeep during the war. This helmet was brought into our shop on Main street in Mesa Arizona by the son of the GI who brought it home. We recently purchased it back from the collector we sold it to who ordered it from one of our mail order lists back in the day, all pre-internet.
