Original period manufacture. No decal M1940 steel helmet with original paint, liner and chinstrap. Maker marked in the side of the skirt Q62 with a lot number which may be 231.  All of the fingers are intact and the original drawstring is present. The liner is secured with three original rivets with slot washers, each fits tight and snug up against the helmet shell. Unbroken leather chinstrap in very sound condition which is maker marked and dated 1942. The helmet displays some minor staining to the liner from wear and use, with a tear on one side. This helmet is nearly identical to the first German helmet I ever purchased, April 1971 in a militaria shop in old-town Scottsdale. Price? $25.00
