Original era manufacture. A high quality officers visor hat piped in Cornflower blue for medical troops.Overall the hat is sound, but does show evidence of considerable moth damage to the top portion. An attempt has been made by a previous owner to repair some of the mostglaring examplesof mothing; this has been accomplished to decent level of success, allowing the hat to display quitewell.The white silk lining is intact, the sweatband is securely sewn to the body, about 1/2 of the sweatshield remains. The visor stitching is a little loose, but secure. At some point in time an aluminum edelweiss emblem was placed between the cap eagle and bullion wreath. Perhaps wartime done, or perhaps postwar. Still, it was a "thing" that was done during the war by Gebirgsjager units andI will leave it at that.
