German WWII Army Model 1941 Tropical Pith Helmet

Original period manufacture. Tan canvas body with a red cotton lining, maker marked under the leather sweatband and size marked 56. When this old warrior came into our possesion it was missing both of it's metal insignia. We had an extra set in our box of spares (each missing one prong), installed them and now he's ready to pass inspection. There is some material loss to the leather edging, the largest being an 1.5 inch section on the front edge and only portions of the chinstrap remain. In spite of this, the helmet presents itself well and although there is some light denting to the crown, the helmet is not crushed or broken.  A pattern of helmet worn on all warm weather fronts during WWII, but made famous by Rommel's Afrika Korps..Heia Safari!
