Original period manufacture. Eickhorn marked blade with lots of original polish remaining, light areas of scattered surface staining. Age darkened plated fittings with a dark orange grip, with one small chip, and a thin crack just below the pommel cap; both of which are covered by the cording of the knot. Dark finish to the steel scabbard with a shallow dent just above the tip. Very clean original silver wire knot, which is likely a more recent addition to the dagger. Absolutely original to the dagger (or certainly at least the scabbard) pair of army hangers. These show considerable age and use, nearly torn through on one side, proving that even back in the day the zinc attaching clips were a problem; as they lower fitting has been permanently soldered closed. All in all the dagger shows it's age but remains quite decent looking.
