Original era manufacture. Standard WWII German Army Officers sword with a lion headed pommel and red glass eyes. The chrome finished steel blade measures 31 inches in length, runs fairly straight and true, with just a hint of a bend near the point. The blade is clean, with no real issues beyond normal age and wear. We have not tried to clean this up, just left it as it came to us. Ornate, brass guard and lionhead pommel with red glass eyes, toned brass patina finish at present. Black plastic wrapped grip, which is bound with triple strand wire.Blue steel scabbard with most of the finish remaining, found one tiny dent in the surface, this should clean up nicely.Holler trade mark on the ricasso and on the opposite side the name of a Mainz retailer, CHR (Christian) Becker.
