Original era manufacture. A nice quality sword featuring a 29.5 inch chromed steel blade, running straight and true. The WKC trademark is tucked safely behind the obverse langet, and the retailers information, Deutscher Offizier Verein Berlin, can be seen on the base of the blade spine. The blade is clean with no nicks just some scattered staining and grime from age, most of which would disappear with a light cleaning. Heavily chased, brass guard, backstrap and lion's head pommel with red glass eyes. Large langets on each side of the guard, the obverse langet decorated with a panoply of arms.Fish skin wrapped grip which shows wear, and thinning in spots, however the triple wire binding is nice and tight. The steel scabbard fits the blade properly, and has an old post production black paint job in my opinion, with some scattered denting just above the drag. One throat screw is present, the other is missing. An honest old sword for a vertically challenged officer.
