Original era manufacture. Rough, issue quality feldgrau wool construction with bright silver wire crown piping. Late war style machine sewn cotton M43 cap insignia which does not pierce the lining. Light gray-green imitation silk lining with the remnants of a paper size tag, 56. Leather partial sweatband at front which is maker marked Deutsche Industrie. Overall the hat is very clean but does show some fraying to the silver piping towards the rear of the hat.
