Original era manufacture. Another very clean example with an original period leather knot wrapped around the hilt. Polished steel blade measuring 33 inches in length with no issues, bright and clean with just a touch of light clouding from oil. Gilded brass guard and pommel with engraved decoration, very nice black plastic grips bound with double strand twisted silver wire. Matching length, original finish black painted steel scabbard which is dent free, nearly 100% of the original finish remains. An identical example of this pattern sword can be found on page 144, in Swords of Germany 1900/1945 by Angolia. Here it is identified as WMW Waffen (unattributed).
