Original era publication and photography. This extensive centers around the service of a German Army Signals NCO, born in 1916, joining the Army in 1937, and attaining the rank of Feldwebel in 1943, while serving on the staff of II Battalion, IR 683, 335th ID. His active service record is considerable; Poland, Low Countries, Northern France, Channel and Atlantic Coast, and finally Russia.His well filled out Wehrpass has most of this information in detail along with his photograph. Several other photos accompany the grouping, including two on his wedding day; with several additional photos of comrades and friends. He is shown wearing the SA Sports Badge and ribbon for the Czech Annexation medal. His date of death was 1 December 1943, the cause, Sepsis from the loss of his left little finger and left knee.Numerous supporting documents are included in the grouping, all of which are housed in a protective folio. ID 335 was formed in January 1941, it's personnel being primarily Poles. It served in Northern France in 1941, and took part in the occupation of Vichy France in November 1942. In early 1943 it was sent to Russia, serving on the Southern Front, fought at Kursk, and was destroyed in August 1944, it's survivors surrendering to the Russians.
