Original period manufacture. Olive green cotton hat with a red cotton lining. Original sewn tropical pattern eagle and cockade on the front of the hat. Size and maker marked on the interior of the hat, 57. There is a circular area in the lining which shows damage in the form of fraying and splitting of the fabric. Something was placed there at some point which caused the fabric to react to it. Happily the exterior of the hat is just fine, no damage or staining there. Very clean overall and in a fairly decent size.
