Original era manufacture. A clean condition Heer Wehrpass issued in 1940 to a Gottingen resident born 1908.  Photo in cover, numerous entries regarding his service. Canal & Atlantic Coasts in 1941, Eastern Front December 41-January 42. Died in a military hospital 31 January 1942. He received training on the K98, gasmask size 2, hat size 57. During WWII IR 396 formed part of the 216th Infantry Division, which was rushed to the Eastern Front in late 1941 in an effort to stem the successful Soviet offensive.
