Original era manufacture. This is a great looking old helmet with lots of character, and an original Heer pattern eagle as shown.Looks to be a large size helmet, measuring 9 3/4 inches across. Nice mix of original paint, steel patina and corrosion staining to the exterior. There is a bullet strike at the 7:00 o'clock position on the body of the helmet, just wear the skirt transitions from the body. It did not penetrate completely and may have saved the life of it's wearer.Only the liner band remains, with all three original rivets present, each with its slot washer in position. A sound old helmet with that unquestionable "been there" look to it.
