Original era manufacture. Standard model M1940 steel helmet with an original decal as shown. Most of the original dark ordnance green overpaint finish remains, and on theright side of the top is asubstantial impact dent.Original rivets arein place, with the rear rivet missing its slot washer for some reason.Complete original liner, none of the fingers are broken or torn, and the adjustment string is present. Only remnants of the chinstrap remain.Purchased from the family of Private Casamento of New York, who served in the 965th Ordnance, Heavy Weapons Maintenance Company during WWII. Of interest, Private Casamento served in both the European and Pacific theaters during WWII.
