German WWII Bullet Struck M35 Steel Helmet, Found In France

Original period manufacture. M1935 pattern helmet with a very dark surface patina and just a hint of an Army decal on the left side. Portsions of the liner and chinstrap remain, with a very dramatic shrapnel hole in the left rear quarter of the helmet just above the flare of the skirt. This helmet was purchased by a friend of ours on a trip to the Normandy area of France about 20 years ago. He was told it came out of a local farmers barn in the 1960's. Intersting battlefield relic.
