Original period manufacture. Feldgrau wool, single button front with a flat wire, T-shaped BeVo style eagle and cockade machine sewn to the front of the hat. The stitching does not pierce the lining. Dark orange imitation silk lining, about the shade seen on the interior of Heer enlisted visor caps. Soiling and minor tearing at the front of the cap from wear. Makers name printed on the lining, Peter Kupper Wu.-Ronsdorff, size marked 55 1/2. Dark gray wool lining to the turn-down.
