German WWII DLV Segelfieger Cap Insignia, Veterans Trophy Flag Lot

Original period manufacture. A stamped alloy cap badge with silver washed wings and prop with a painted circle and swastika . Both attaching prongs are intact. See Dress and Field Service Hats of the Third Reich by Shutt, page 58, for an example of this scarce insignia.  This was included as a part of a recently purchased WWII veterans trophy flag. The GI served with artillery attached to the US XXth Corps. Near new condition showing storage age and wear only.
