Original era manufacture. A very nice example of a Malsch & Ambronn produced M1933 SA enlisted dagger, which was a recent purchase from a Tucson Arizona estate by a friend of ours. The dagger is an early quality production with nickel fittings throughout, Sa district mark (Saxony) on the reverse of the guard, and inscribed on the obverse of the upper and lower guard is the following; Dem Sieger (The Victor), im S.A. Wettkampf 1936 (SA Competition). The 1936 date is intriguing as that was the year the Olympics were held in Germany. The dagger is in "as found" condition, no attempt at cleaning or polishing has been made, it's present condition reflecting just the normal age and wear from long storage and handling. The blade is bright and clean with just some very light runner wear on the surfaces. Typical light dings and scratches to the wooden one piece grip, with no cracks or chips. The scabbard retains most of its original finish, with traces of the clear lacquer visible. All of the fitting screws are present, and for once the ball tip is not dented.Attached to the scabbard ring is a leather carrying strap with an additional leather extension with pommel strap.
