Original era manufacture. Early pattern dagger with nickel fittings and an anodized scabbard body. The blade is very clean, good amount of crossgrain polish visible and a clear makers logo on the ricasso. There is a bit of light age staining and a fine dusting of surface corrosion but we have made no attempt to clean this dagger, it looks just as it did coming out of the footlocker. There is some minor surface chipping to the grip where the surface meets the edges of the upper and lower guard. Only one tiny piece is missing, the rest is seperation from over tightening. The nickel fittings have not been cleaned in a long time and show age staining. There is some shallow surface denting to the scabbard throat but all of the fitting screws are present. The scabbard body shows a period repaint over the anodized finish and some shallow surface denting as well, typical denting to the ball tip. Included with the dagger at the time of our purchase is this original brown leather hanger and belt loop. Sound, unmolested example that needs a light bath to clean up a bit.
