Original period manufacture. Double Alcoso marked plated steel blade measuring 13 inches in length. Heavy plated guard and pommel without a lock button. Unit marked on the reverse of the guard S.H.705 indicating a Hannover Police unit. Original stag grips with an aluminum police eagle. The blade finish is very clean, just a few very small spots of corrosion on the spine. Plated steel scabbard throat and alloy chape, with matching Police unit markings on the reverse of the throat. Black leather bodied scabbard, two small repairs to the seam stitching otherwise sound. Typical age crazing and service scuffing to the leather surface, no creases or breaks. Black leather military style frog showing wear to the edges, sound stitching, missing the washer from the front of the right side aluminum rivet. Very nice original Police pattern knot.
