Item #69586 : Original period manufacture.German folding shovel with a red bakelite adjusting nut. Very clear makers mark and date on the blade surface, a lion holding a shovel with 1940 date. Original wood handle, shovel operates as it should, normal age and wear. The carrier is of a yellow-tan presstoff material, dated 1942 with a makers code of jhz and a fairly clear waffenamt stamp. It is extremely well made showing wear to the black leather portions, and surface corrosion on the heads of the rivets. But, there is just something about it that I can't quite put my finger on, it's just too clean I suppose. So, I'm calling it a copy, and if I am wrong, well, you've gotten a bargain.
