Original period manufacture. A well marked folding shovel with wooden handle,with the folding blade marked and dated gyr 1942, with a waffenamt proof below. Mix of blue steel finish and steel patina to the blade, bakelite locking nut works properly. A sound presstoff & leather carrier which is faintly marked bml/41 on the bottom reverse of the carrier. The carrier is made of presstoff with leather trim, missing only the small stud on the belt loop . Shovels are fairly common, this one is very nicely and clearly marked, original carriers are scarce.
