Original period manufacture. Feldgrau whipcord wool tunic with a dark green wool collar. Machine sewn collar tabs and handsewn breast eagle, with loops on the left side for a badge and small ribbon bar. Rank of 1st Lieutenant, with the shoulder strap buttons being normal size tunic buttons. Full imitation silk lining with a French tailor's label on the outside of the left interior pocket and a named and 12/11/40 dated tag on the inside of same. Dagger strap and snaphook from the underside of the left arm opening. There is wear to the lining right in the collar area and down to the lower hem of the tunic.The exterior of the tunic shows some scattered snagging to the surface of the material and a repair to the right lower pocket flap but no major holes or stains. The tunic was made rather short for wear, a style preferred by young officers of the time. Size about a 36. The hat is not included, shown for display purposes only.
