Original era manufacture. An early pattern dagger with alloy fittings throughout, requisite dent to the scabbard ball tip, and portions of the original Ernst Rohm presentation inscription visible on the blade. The blade is clean, with light staining from oil, but a very nice contrast to the motto. On the reverse is a very clear makers logo from the Haenel firm and remnants of the Rohm inscription. Very nice light colored wood grip with both emblems in place, no cracks, dents or chips. The letters Th can be seen on the reverse of the lower guard fitting for the SA Gruppe Thuringen. A good bit of the original finish remains on the scabbard body with traces of the lacquer covering visible too. There is a surface dent on the obverse of the scabbard just above the chape. This dagger was one of many souvenirs brought home to the US after the end of WWII by Corporal R.D.Easler, 3468th Ordnance Company, US Army.
