Original era manufacture. A time capsule of sorts is this very nice example of the WWII German Wehrmacht hard-shell P-38 holster. The markings on the reverse include the makers code hjg, 1941 date and a waffenamt proof of WaA416. The waffenamt letter code and 416 number were assigned to the firm of Kimnack & Brunn of Kaiserslautern in 1941. Black lustrous leather with white top stitching. Never oiled or repaired, not crushed and no dry rot. Soldiers name KOOS inked onto the underside of the flap. The holster and magazine pouch have been stuffed with newspaper for many years, I removed one section and read the date of 1977.
