Original era manufacture. All metal construction except for the black rubber tires, with an overall measurement of 12.5 inches. Maker marked Hausser-Elastolin on the top of the breech and Hausser on each of the rubber tires. This toy cannon can be broken down into three main components; front and rear transport trailers and the weapon itself on a cruciform platform. The two side supports on the platform can be unhooked and folded down. The breech mechanism is difficult to lock into position unless it wants to, when it does it can be fired by pressing down on a metal tab which releases the striker. The two transport trailers are held in place by a vertical tab on the bottom of each which fit inside slots in the front and rear base support arms. A threaded horizontal stabilizing rod is fitted to each trailer, operated by a wheel on each end, which when turned in a clockwise fashion, inserts the rods into the base of the gun mount. Pretty cool, just like the original guns. Nearly 100% of the original feldgrau paint remains, with the only piece missing being a 1.5 inch cylindrical rod which fits in a small casing on the top of the barrel, the other matching rod is present. Even the little tow wire reels are wrapped with a twine to look like the real thing.
