Original era manufacture. A solid example of a summer-weight, private purchase M1936 pattern officer's grade service coat. Cotton whipcord material which has delightfully faded to a pale gray-green color, leaving behind glimpses of the original exterior color in the protected areas. Being made of cotton, moth issues are not a concern to the body of the coat, however the dark green wool collar has some mothing on the top rear of the neck. The collar litzen, shoulder strap insignia all match nicely in condition and wear and are piped in Cavalry yellow, rank, Oberleutnant. The collar litzen appear to be original to the uniform however they are pulling away in spots from the collar from wear and use. The shoulder straps are of the slip-on variety showing considerable mothing to the wool waffenfarbe. Hand sewn silver wire Heer pattern coat eagle. Eastern front ribbon through the second buttonhole, when the ribbon is lifted up there is a distinct color difference behind the ribbon. All buttons are present, stitched in white thread at the front right bottom interior edge of the coat are five letters in white cotton. All in all a very presentable coat showing honest service wear and use. Size about a 36 regular.
