Original era manufacture. A fine quality set to include a M1936 pattern service tunic in feldgrau wool with a dark green wool collar. Four patched and pleated pockets with pointed flaps. Original machine sewn collar tabs, with a hand sewn original Heer pattern, officers quality bullion wire eagle on the chest. The threads of which do not penetrate the lining. The only visible mothing on the coat appears around the edges of the eagle, indicating it may be a postwar replacement. Original sewn shoulder straps piped in cornflower blue in the rank of Major. Iron Cross 2nd  Class and War Service Cross 2nd Class ribbons through the 2nd buttonhole, being secured with hand stitching. Full body lining of imitation silk with a French tailor's label hand sewn to the interior pocket cover. Small slit in the lining above the left hip pocket, with a dagger snap hook attached by a strap extending down from the left arm opening. Above the upper left chest pocket is a 9-place ribbon bar which was on the coat at the time of our purchase. It fits the pin loops properly, and has a nice vintage look to it. Three vertical loops on the pocket pleat for badges. The gray wool straight legged trousers are piped in medical colors, two slash pockets in front, with two hip pockets on the reverse, with adjusting tabs on each side. Small watch pocket in front. Overall the condition of the set is near new, displaying minimal wear and use, with near zero mothing. As mentioned previously, the only bug attention I could see can be found around the edges of the bullion coat eagle. The coat is a size 40 regular, the trouser waistband measures 36 inches, with an inseam measurement of 30 inches. The set comes with a pair of 1943 dated adjustable suspenders.
