Original period manufacture. A sound example of the WWII German Stahlhelm, M1935 style shell, maker and size stamped SE66, lot number 080, original decal as shown. Intact original liner, none of the fingers have been pulled through, the adjusting string is present but tattered. Fragile, partial leather chinstrap but missing the adjusting buckle. Three original liner rivets with slot washers, two of them have considerable verdigris build up on the prong, indicating they have been in place for a long time. The liner band is clearly dated 1940, a good indicator of a rebuild done at that time. Scattered small droplets of white paint on the rear of the helmet, indicating time spent in the garage.Solid WWII era helmet.
