Original era manufacture. Standard M1940 Heer pattern steel helmet, NS64, lot number appears to be 013(5)8. Original decal as shown, intact pigskin liner, with all rivets and slot washers in place. Pliable black leather chinstrap which looks to be made from a field-modified equipment strap. Missing only the adjusting string in the liner. On the top of the helmet is a 5.5 inch fracture in the steel, which I understand may be from the effects of a shell blast. Overall a sound helmet showing the effects of combat use.
