Original Period Manufacture. Doeskin, feldgrau wool body, with silver piping on the crown and turn up. Silver, flat wire eagle which is hand stitched to the front of the hat, below, a cotton embroidered cockade. Green waffenfarbe, which our consignor states to be Gebirgsjager. Black cotton lining with a very faint size 58 stamped in white ink, and a brown leather reinforcement at the front. Overall the hat is very clean, no serious moth issues, just some minor moth crazing to the wool surface of the exterior, and a small 2 x 8 mm hole on the right side which is hidden by the turn up. There is a small tear in the leather reinforcement at the peak. An honest, original hat in every way.
